Art and Design
Our art and design curriculum aims to inspire pupils and develop their confidence to experiment and invent their own works of art. We aim to nurture the talent and interests of pupils and encourage them to express their ideas and thoughts about the world. In addition, they learn about the rich heritage and culture of the British Isles and beyond.
A diverse range of art and the artists that created them is studied.
Lessons are based on the Kapow scheme of work which follows three areas of learning: drawing; painting and mixed media and craft and design. â¯Lessons are taught in a sequential and progressive order and develop discrete skills and techniques.
